Wireless Router Help

I just got a Netgear WGR614v set up and have connected to the router itself. However, I can't get beyond the router to the internet. I know my DSL modem itself is working fine, but I still can't get straight on. This is without the wireless cards, just a straight connection to the wireless router to set it up. All the settings have been put in as recommended with my user/password, auto ip and dns, etc.

Where am I going wrong?

Did your DSL require a logon before you entered the router into the equation? If you aren't sure, did you have to launch a program on your computer to connect to the internet, or were you always connected whenever you turned on your system?

If your DSL requires a logon, you will need to configure your router to do that for you. You will no longer be able to do it from your computer.

If no logon is required, check the status of the WAN connection on the router using the web browser interface. Did it pull in an IP address from your DSL provider, or is it showing 0.0.0.0 for the IP?

I finally figured it out... thanks for the suggestions.

I changed the IP assigned to my router and switched the PPP location.
