so about 7 months ago, a friend of mine let me use his D-Link Wireless Router to connect our duplex wirelessly with SBC DSL as our broad-band. at the time, it took a while to finally get it working right but finally got it.
so recently my friend asked if he could have his router back and i gave it back to him. i bought a newer d-link router (they don't have his anymore). DI-524.
so i was hoping it would be as easy and plug-and-play. wrong.
so the original line is going from the wall to the SBC DSL modem. from here i have an ethernet cable going from the modem to the "WAN" input of the wireless router. from there, i have an ethernet cable in the "1" output going from there to my roommate's computer. i have a laptop so i can then hop on wirelessly.
sounds good? wrong. i know this is the way it is supposed to be set up. but the problem is that our computers "see" the internet but we cannot get hooked up. every time we try to view a website it says "the page cannot be displayed".
i don't think it is an SBC software issue b/c we didn't uninstall anything from our previous setup.
i am guessing there is something in the D-Link Setup Wizard that i am doing wrong. what could it be?
any help is appreciated.
