Wireless Home Speakers

We have an odd shaped living room that is prohibitive to running wires through walls for speakers. I would like recommendations for wireless speakers. Good ones, ones to avoid. thanks....

I agree, avoid wireless speakers. They just don't work very good.

Are in-ceiling speakers a possibility. Don't need to have a wall for those.

if you absolutely cannot run wires to the back of the room, then just run a center, 2 fronts and a sub.
Wireless just arent very good and sound like **** at high volume.

Hard floors or carpet? If it's carpet you can run wires under the carpet along the baseboard. If it's a hard floor you might be able to pull off the baseboards, run the wires, and reattach the baseboards.

There are some very respectable virtual surround systems featuring either a soundbar design (Yamaha, Phillips, Sony) or a 2.1 (Denon) that you might want to check out. My Denon S-301 does a very nice job in our living room. It's not as immersive as a 5 or 7 channel surround system but it performs much better than the wireless rear speaker systems that I demo'd (this was 2+ years ago).

I have the Yamaha sound bar plus sub. Its damn good for music. The room it is in is combo living and kitchen so it doesn't reflect the sound so well. That is, the surround effect is fairly weak although the sound quality is good. In a rectangular room with the listener near the center, the software works really well to generate surround.
