Wireless Card for Notebook

I know I've seen threads about this before, but I guess I wasn't paying attention.

So, if I just want to be able to go to a local Starbucks type place with a wireless network and get online, I just need to get something like this, stick it in my notebook, install the software and I can have internet, right?

Are there certain brands I should look for, look out for, etc? A guy told me that I should get a G card. Any help for a non-techie person would be great.

1) this is a Horn Depot topic
2) any G card is good, everyone has their fav
3) any card will work at Starbucks, however you need to use T-Mobile. that does not mean for your phone, you can purhcase WiFi service as a stand alone.

you could always buy a G3 cad from your mobile provider. I have one from Sprint, $80 a month, unlimited use. so when I'm somewhere where I cannot hope on a BB network (cabled or wifi) Iuse the G3, runs at ISDN speed. good enough to bridge the gap
