Winning the West in 2013

I read that the Rangers are looking at Grienke and Upton.

I see the Angels traded Santana and are trying to trade Haren, and have no plans to reup with Tori Hunter.
They have a big budget. No telling who they will seek as replacements.

Meanwhile the As will probably trade everyone with a salary over $5 million and contend playing a bunch of players we've never heard of.

Wisdom would say the Angles loaded up in 2012 for a push and it didn't work. Now they are saddled with several high value contracts that no one will not take due to age and length of contract. Will the open the checkbook again?

The fact that the Rangers are saying Ogando will not only be on the roster but as a starter is very disturbing. Let's all hope right now he is being used as a placeholder. Hamilton will be gone; Young will have to accept a benching if he doesn't hit; and Kinsler will end up in the outfield. February is not that far away so Nolan has got to have something up his sleeve. One thing is for sure - playing the Astros as a division foe will help pad the W's and provide relief for division travel.

The A's caught lightening in a bottle and that seldom happens two years in a row.
