i realize this is probably wishful thinking, but here it goes.

i got a shitload of spyware on my computer today. i ran a ton of programs lile ad aware, spybot, etc. but they wouldn't go away.

i just said **** it and tried to repair my XP with the disc. i accidentally erased everything i had while doing this.

is there anyway that i can retrieve my old files or am i ****** like i think i am?

Without knowing more details, pretty much screwed unless you want to spend thousands of dollars at a recovery service.

Did you do a full wipe or a quick wipe? If you did a full wipe, then it stamps every sector of the hard disk , if not, then it just erases the filetree, while the actual data still exists. I had a friend who had a program which let you scan your PC for data which wasn't linked in a file tree, and i managed to get a lot of my data back.

This is an extremely tedious process, and is pretty much worthless if you haven't done a defrag lately...
