Windows XP CD burning

Over the weekend someone told me that with Windows XP you don't have to use CD burning software because XP has "built in" software to do that. You just select the files you want to burn in My Computer or something and click on "Write to CD".

Is this correct? If so, are there any limitations? Why would people still want CD burning software?

better interface etc... i'm sure that the built in thing can only burn data cds. audio cds will have to be burned through WMP and you'll most likely need a 3rd party software for vcds etc.

I think the new Windows Media Player allows you to burn CDs from it. I've never tried it though. It just seems like I remember seeing something about it.

It works, but it's slow, and does not burn audio cd's or iso images, or video cd's or other stuff you get with a full featured package.

For windows to write through Windows Explorer (or other such navigator), Windows wants you to format the CD to accept files written that way - i dunno its weird.
