I have many missing screens that need to be replaced, frame and all. Will I have to build them myself, or is it possible to buy only screens? They are not to be found at Home Depot.
Frames are good....I went out after one of our many hailstorms, and happened to glance at them....shredded.
The carnage was incredible.
I'm glad I didn't blame the kids.
Home Depot has the supplies to fix screens if the frames are intact. I don't think it is difficult. I hear the solor screening material works as advertised.
My problem is they probably destroyed the frames taking them off when they painted the house (just before I bought the house). The house does not exactly have high-dollar windows, and I am sure they had not been taken off in twenty years.
Home Depot should also have the frame pieces, though you have to cut and assemble them yourself. At least my local store had them two years ago when I made some screens.
if you'd rather skip the hassle and have it done for you (and you are in Austin), Dan White's Screens are great. They put solar screens on a bunch of my windows, which are fantastic, and it was pretty reasonable.
