I just installed a new printer, and now every time I move the mouse to turn off the screen saver, it asks me to click my log in name. Before i installed the printer I could just move the mouse and everything would be right there. Is there any way I can make it stop asking me to click my log in name?

Don't know why your printer would have anything to do with that.

Try checking your screen saver settings to make sure "On resume, password protect" is not check.

What brand printer is it? Might want to try checking their support forums and see if anyone else has had the problem.

I have seen software mess with unrelated settings like that. It annoys the hell out of me. You may be able turn that feature off by going to the Display Properties and under the Screen saver tab, uncheck prompt for login when disengaging the screen saver option.

Its an HP, but all it took was turning off the welcome screen. This software caused that little thing to be checked, and it also caused me to temporarily lose my background.
