Yes, according to these folks:

The Link

I am always intrigued by end-of-the-worlders and their psychology. How many times does one have to read about other groups of people who believed that the world was ending before one says "you know, the chances of being able to predict when the world is going to end have been historically very slim."

Normally I'd say this theory has no credence. But all hell will break out if Obama fails to get reelected that November.

I read the book 2012: The Return of Quezatcoatl, the theory that ancient religions predicted the world was going to end is not really true. They believed 2012 was going to be the beginning of a new age and the end of a period of dark ages. This book is about doing drugs for the most part, surprise.

You know someday the world will most likely come to an end, and there is the chance that someone will have predicted that. Thus you never know which wacko will actually turn out to the be the right one, so I say believe them all!

You should have caught a ride on the Hale-Bopp comet and you would already be safely in another galaxy with these guys..

I've been trying to gather some investors for a Mayan Calendar Reverse Mortgage Company for a few months now and no one seems interested.

Also, if the mayans were so smart that they knew when the world would end, why didn't they think of the wheel? That seems like a more practical invention.

i'm more interested in what happens to those after doomsday comes and goes. what do they have to say?

My mom was a little disappointed by the Harmonic Convergence in 1987. Maybe her crystals weren't aligned properly to her chakras and the planets and everything. Or maybe the skepticism and materialism of people like HHK is slowing Mayan time.
