Eugene's post about being fined for alchohol at Bull Creek and "stupid laws" got me started thinking about how much I miss mountain biking from Bull Creek Park up to Jester Estates and back down. That was possibly the best trail in Austin before it closed to...***ahem***...SAVE the Golden Cheeked Warblers from the havoc us mountain bikers were wreaking upon them.
Now they patrol the park with...get this...4-wheelers.
How many passes up and down the trail with a bike do you think it takes to do the damage that one pass of a 4-wheeler does? That's not even accounting for the pollution and noise.
So, when Parks and Rec announced the restricted use of the park, it was announced as "temporary". Does anyone have any idea if it's ever going to end, so we'll be able to ride there or hike w/o a permit? Or was that all ********?
