The unaddressed item is that cheerleading is the "activity" that produces more injuries than an other for females and because it is not a "sport", there are no safety guidlines like other "sports". While I personally struggle with it being a "sport" the way it is defined in my mind, I do believe the safety standards issue is one good enough for me to call it a "sport".
