Wii Fit

You could measure it based on the dedication of the player to exercising.

Personally, I'd go with a ChaLEAN Extreme or P90/P90X program if you are really interested in getting in shape at your home.

read somewhere a while back that 60% of wii fits get shelved after one use and never brought out again. i know 3 people that have them. used them almost daily for a month. never to be touched again. if you really want one, i bet you could find a lightly used one super cheap.

It's really more for my wife. She's quitting her gym membership because she just doesn't have time to go anymore (kids + work) so wants something at home. I figured I research the Wii before I went the home gym route. Also, I have no room for a home gym, so it's either something like the WII or a small elliptical machine.

Per my wife's request I bought her the ChaLEAN Extreme workout series of DVDs for Mother's Day. She loves it. It focuses on heavy weights with a few cardio days mixed in. My wife also has a highend treadmill and elliptical machine.

I have to say that I actually like the video series too. The workouts are generally limited to 30-35 minutes so I can get them out of the way at 6am before going into work. My wife and I actually work out together now.

With 3 boys in school/sports and both working parents finding time to workout is the hardest thing to do. That's why my wife and I committed to doing it at home together.

I'd highly recommend the Bowflex SelectTech dumbbells. They are VERY expensive but work great for the home gym with limited space.

Check out EA's Active Personal Trainer. Online reviews have is superior to Wii Fit. I bought for $59 at Costco, so it's also $30 or so cheaper.

Frankly, it's not intense enough for me. Send me a PM and we could work a deal for $30 or so if you're interested.
