Why would any 5 or 4 star

Why would any 4 or 5 star recruit consider Aggy? They have always been a middle of the pack team no matter what conf they've played in and has never been a serious contender.

Yes they have been a little below average in the pack and every wild once in a while they are slightly above average, but they are consistently just average. Unless a player is okay with being average at best or his heart is set on being a pet doctor, I just don't get it.

You obviously haven't seen the list of championships they have won, prominently displayed on their stadium. If you want to believe, you believe, facts be damned.

I thought this thread was an aggy troll posting "why would any 4 or 5 star go to t.u." That is what they have been saying there for the last 2-3 years and it worked on a bunch of unsuspecting poor kids. Otherwise, they won't get too many 4s and 5s. They thought it was all because of SEC, but it was just that we didn't have our act together. Now we do, and we are showing them who their daddy is. If this recruiting class finishes the way we think it will, then aggy is done for a while. But 5 more days to go. Just hold on tight before we badmouth them. After NSD, I want to really speak my mind on aggy!

Jay, I was thinking the same as Hu about Kyler. But after listening to what you said it all makes sense. It makes me think our chances are better than I thought. One thing though, I think we got Daylon already. I think he would prefer being on the field with Malik more than being on the sideline watching Kyler play. I think our chances are really good with everyone were after but the one to wonder the most about is Kyler. I think we get Soso but not Warren which would be okay. If we are going to more of a spread passing game Soso would be perfect for that offense. He has great hands and his running style would also fit because if we are successful passing with our new offense, that spreads the def out and Soso is a one cut player and goes. I also like our chances at Lodge. It's that one tweet he did about the assistant coach at his HS that he deleted shortly after that makes me think he's with us. For sure if we get Kyler.

Good analysis as always, jay — thanks for the insights. Whatever happens, I think we will have a lot to be excited about come Feb 4.

Just remember that there is an outside chance that Sumlin will go and be on his knees saying mea culpa for whatever, and Kyler will cry, distraught about what he has done to aggy... They run into each others arms and cry... "It's me" ... "No, it was all me".... They cry for hours and decide "we will together take the blame for this and admit it all, but let us salvage what we can" .... He pulls out another bottle of rum he was dying to empty, and drinks with Kevin Murray into the wee hours of the night... Then Sumlin struggles to tweet out in the middle of throwing up in the bathroom, "I... think... I got...sky,,, what's this guy's name again?... skyler... Ok, anyway we cool."

And Charlie will skip sleep and jump on the corporate jet, on the way to Maryland....

There's always that chance. It;s recruiting after all. So who knows!

That makes sense, if Murray is a pied piper type of recruit, he'd have no interest in dragging out a process one way or the other, but particularly not in flirting with a school that had no real chance to get him. He'd at least privately be telling kids "don't sweat it, come to A&M, it's all good". Sounds like that's not happening.

^^^ Have to agree. It seems Oregon did an in=home yesterday. It doesn't seem like he will be going up there this weekend. No indication that they are a becoming a big player... as yet, at least.
