i agree that the power of women is awesome
sadly that culture thinks nothing of killing them
and i am afraid there are more men willing to kill
than there are girls/ women to stand up

Did you read the story 6721. YOu realize this courageous girl had a national impact in Pakistan? There are awful elements to their culture, but it's not monolithic. People with courage and education can and are making a difference.

I think the women in that regions who stand up to the men are more courageous that any of us would be.

I also see the numbers who are killed.
I wish it were different but I think that culture is too entrenched and the men, with the weapons, won't allow women to advance

It would be nice if a nation stepped up and helped those women or women in any muslim nation but that isn't going to happen either

it is very sad

Some are convinced that the Arab Spring is glorious change with bunnies hopping on the ground and flowers blooming in the desert. Perhaps a song is playing in the background.

A brave 14 year old girl shouldn't be a martyr poster child for freedom. What a sick country. It's easy to write a "Great article" from the confines of your eclectic New York apartment and wax poetically about young girls dying.
