Why should I be excited

about the Cowboys taking Felix Jones and that wide reciever from Florida who is all of 5ft 9in? Is there a star reciever in the league that short? (most mock drafts seem to have these two)

I know there are other threads on the draft but color me not impressed if this is who the Cowboys take. I wanted to see how others felt about these two picks

I would much rather have those rb's from Oregon and Illinois than Felix Jones.

Done ranting.

Mock drafts are just that...mock drafts. Wait 'til the Cowboys really are on the board before judging their picks. No need to get worked up just yet.....

Felix Jones as a back up running back put up better numbers in 3 years than most starters ever dream of in their career.

3 time All-SEC, 3 time All-American, 5,088 All-Purpose yards, and 27 TD's

2,962 yards rushing on 376 carries at 7.87 per (20 TD's)

1,661 Kick off return yards (29.6 yds per, 4 TD's)

383 receiving yards (3 TD's)

Those are pretty salty numbers for a kid that played 2nd fiddle. So, he may not be who you want but his resume speaks for itself.

I would say he has more than held his own. Wouldn't you?

Yes, he was in McFaddens shadow but it takes slightly more than mop up duty to be 3 time All-SEC, 3 time AA, and chalk up over 5,000 all purpose yards in 3 years.

I'm not saying that he will be the greatest NFL back of all time. I'm just saying that disappointment should not be felt by any fan base that drafts him.

So, was he a "2nd stringer"? Yup. But he would start at any school that doesn't also have a RB named McFadden. And that includes Texas.

Jones put up sick numbers against the fastest and most talented defenses in the country.

I always liked Marion Barber as a third down back/redzone player. Will his bruising style hold up as a starter?

Basically, what I'm saying is I liked how they did j. jones/ barber, but just wish jones was more productive

Jerry let his Hog-colored glasses cloud his vision and blow this one for the Cowboys. Mendenhall would have been the better choice and he was available when the Cowboys chose. Mendenhall is as fast, carries about 15 pounds more heft, and was the featured back in college. Jerry, you blew this one...

I like Felix Jones as their pick. But their WR's kind of concern me. They are either injury prone or getting old or both and Patrick Crayton as your # 3, they are decent at WR but not strong like they should be.
