why is my fing internet slow

only on explorer? ******* driving me crazy, because i want to listen to the internet radio i subscribe to. mother ****** is pissing me off. I can't run mozilla because launchcast doesn't support it. ******* microsoft. i've run all appropriate spyware tools, and my internet is CRAWLING on explorer. flies on mozilla, and on the wireless laptop, it flies also. something is up. sucks. any ideas?
 
0.01% - 0.15% during the duration of writing this post. Right now, I'm on an online poker site and a ****** radio station that actually works with mozilla.
 
nope. plenty of other porn sites though, which is why I imagine I have this problem.

My web surfing though isn;t the issue. Explorer takes forever to load anything. It's ******* retarded, and I can't find the problem. I'm just going to reinstall the ******, I think.
 
Try this:

c-a-d and flip through the processes tab. Look for anything taking up a lot of CPU or memory. End those processes. Pay special attention to iexplore or explorer. Sometimes 3rd party add ons, like Acrobat reader, can make your browser sluggish too.

If it is explorer or something important, just click on File->Run new task and type in the name of the one you ended (i.e. explorer or iexplore) If it is really important, you'll have to sit through a reboot. It appears that you may have encountered a memory leak or got stuck in a subroutine. I've experienced both.

Killing and restarting the process should solve it if that's what you are experiencing.
 
the weird thing, dustin, is that I'm not experiencing a lot of ****** up processes that are eating up my memory. But I plan to kill the beast and reinstall. what a pain in the ***.
 
cache and cookies have been cleaned, and are pretty regularly.

I'm on mozilla, but I can't listen to my internet ******* radio because yahoo doesn't support mozilla or noetscape. Thus, my slavery to microsoft begrudgingly continues.
 
Don't take this the wrong way, Hayden, but I think it's funny when people start having trouble with Windows or IE and their first reaction is to blame Microsoft. Like people who sue Ford because they run their F150 into a tree, or people who sue McDonald's because they eat too much and get fat.

I'm not saying there aren't problems with Windows and IE. There are plenty. But if you jack it up, then you've got to accept some responsibility for how it got jacked up and try to avoid that. There are millions of Windows computers in the world and a large percentage run just fine with the right kind of care and upkeep. ***

Hayden,....do yourself a major favor and nuke IE....go to the following link and download Mozilla Firefox. Its much faster than that **** Microsoft packages and jams down our throats. My favorite feature is that when you fat finger a url, instead of taking you to some gay as site that attemps to hijack your browser,you get a message that the site can't be found. I absolutely love it!!! I have noticed I dont drop nearly as many "F Bombs" since making the change. If you have any questions about it, just ask, youll find alot of people use it and love it.

he said yahoo only supports IE.

i would use other browsers, but IE is too much the standard these days and it aint TOO bad and i'm extremely used to it and the shortcuts.
