Why is Jennings still a starter for the Rangers?

I'm sorry, but how many times must this guy not get out of the 3rd inning before the Rangers realize he has a big bag of NOTHING!!

He might as well be throwing under hand...

I was just about to start a similar thread. He has now given up 27 runs (26 earned) in 27.1 innings over 6 games. Throw in the 34 hits and 18 walks for a WHIP of almost 2... How is he on a roster still?

Within the next few days, I would love to see one of the following happen:

-Jason Jennings to the DL and A.J. Murray recalled
-Jennings to the DL, Byrd transferred to the 60-day DL or activated and DFAed, Elizardo Ramirez contract purchased
-Jennings to DL, Byrd transferred to 60 or DFAed, Doug Mathis purchased

Anyone but Jennings at this point, even if it means getting a temporary look at a spare like Ramirez.

This is all made a little cloudy by the fact that Nippert is on the 15-day DL, cannot be moved to the 60 until his 15 days are up, and cannot be cut until he is eligible to be activated. Although at this point I wouldn't be totally against pulling Loe off the 40-man.

Hrns03,

I couldn't agree more. Maybe my Hurley call is a bit of a stretch but give me someone who we think MIGHT be a contributor for us long term. Get Jennings the F out. If my starter is only going 2+ IP I want it to be a guy we can sit down after and go over tape with. I want it to be a guy our pitching coach works with constantly on his mental and physical approach. This Jennings crap is toast.

Now you know what us Astros fans had to put up with last year. Jennings was terrible but better than Woody Williams. Maybe you could trade for Woody?
