Why doesn't Starbucks offer recycling??

I went there this morning and noticed that all the paper and plastic used in their stores gets dumped into the trash. How can a company that tries to be perceived as environmentally conscious get away with this?! I can't imagine how much is thrown away that could be recycled. Rant over.

I work for Starbucks and can attest that being a socially conscious company is one of our highest priorities. Our corporate office is in the process of trying to reduce our trash by ~60% by leveraging individual recycling and compost receptacles in each department.

I know the stores here in Washington State recycle as I've helped out there during the holiday rush. Why is the individual store you reference not recycling? I don't know. Not all cities offer recycling options for commercial properties.
