Why did Texas fall out of the top 25

Are you joking? Texas was lucky, IMO, to have stayed at 15 after the last second win over KU, then they dropped out after losing to TCU.

Probably teams like Memphis moving up past us, and/or some of the teams that lost let other teams move up relative to us. Weird things can happen in an aggregate.

Applachian State lost and mostly fell out of the poll, which would tend to make the teams behind them move up. So if someone had previously had:

24. Texas
25. Applachian State
26. Navy
27. San Diego State

Then the latter two gain points relative to us on his ballot. Not saying that actually did happen here, but if one team tends to be a "wedge" on a large number of ballots then you get this effect a lot.

With SMU losing this week, and us losing to TCU last week ( who SMU had beaten ) , made us look worse than we did last week. Add OSU beating TCU.....Makes us look that much worse. Throw in teams behind us winning and you see a reason for a slide.
Yep Sam...We're baaaack...To mediocre and irrelevent. Now we see why Herman was pissed at Sam for saying we we're back.

We will end up top 25. By seasons end, hopefully top 15. Losing 8 D starters to graduation and then 6 more D starters to injury is just an unfortunate fact. Now that most 19’ Starters are back we will see improvement and with J Whitt back on offense. We could still get to CCG. But no we have been playing like a team ranked 25-30 lately as we limped into the bye week. I think things change quickly now for the better. The bandwagon will get heavier by December.

Losing defensive starters doesn't explain 4 ints against TCU. You turn the ball over 4 times you're going to lose most of the time. And we should be able to beat Kansas with our 2nd team. No excuses, guys didn't execute and coaching was suspect at best. It's not that complicated.

Texas lost the bi-week.
Yes, it was a truly pathetic performance. Sam again played good enough to win, but sadly, the defense, as expected, could not get a stop when it had too.
Very Sad.

The entire coaching staff must, as a group, turn in their resignations at Scholz Garden at midnight, as a gesture of good will. Del Conte will of course NOT accept the resignations. Instead giving each an extension and raise. Bevo was so pissed off at the loss that he is not getting off the trailer at the next game until halftime.

Getting beat by TCU is a hard pill to swallow.
