Why childhood was so awesome:

The scene where Littlefoot mother died just tore me up as a kid, and I still got a little misty eyed just watching it again now. The scene where he thinks he sees his mom again also was so emotional.

It ties with The Lion King for best movie of my childhood

Not animated, but I'd have to go with The Goonies as to why my childhood was awesome. Also, I was perfect bike riding age when I saw E.T. for the first time. Riding my bike was never the same after that.
