US investigators are moving forward in trying to dig up something on Lance Armstrong and his former US Postal cycling team. My question is why are we spending so much tax $$ on this? What purpose is it going to serve? We're about a trillion or two in the red and THIS is what we are spending money on???

I'll admit that I am a big Lance fan, but the guy has been tested more times than just about anyone on the planet and has come up clean time and again.

Does our gvt not have anything better to do?

our gubmint at its finest....

linky sez > "A Lance Armstrong (case) will go all the way up the chain," she said. "(Attorney General Eric) Holder or one of his chief deputies will sign off on the indictment or be briefed on it. They will have input even before this case gets indicted."

All those people involved need a paycheck. They are too lazy or stupid to try and tackle a real issue so this is how they justify the pay they get.

I think the prosecution of Bonds and Clemens is a similar waste of time and money because they stem from useless Congressional hearings that were a waste of time and money.

Good TV, though. Isn't that what really matters?

I didn't see a lot of the Bonds trial on teevee. NBC must have had something better to trot out.

This is about our gubmint and its priorities. "Bin Laden? Check. Armstrong? (pause) ARMSTRONG?? (no answer). BRING ME THE HEAD OF LANCE ARMSTRONG. I am Holder hear me roar"

I was wondering the same thing but can someone explain to me why "our government" is chasing after a guy who competed in Europe? At least bonds and clemens did it here.

What gives?
