Wish I could, have made three trips up there when I was in Fort Worth (03, 04 and 05) and each one was great. Thank goodness all the games will be on TV from here on out so this horn fan will be watching from the Bahamas next weekend and from here in Cayman the rest of the week. 6 CWS appearances and two NC's this decade lets see if we cant add to that list of accomplishments before the book is closed on the aughts.

Seriously considering it at this very momnt. Anyone who has been - what is the ticket situation like? (i.e. what can I expect to pay?)

Wow, must be nice! I don't think I would want to leave the cayman islands either! My wife & I love the diving there!!

Rockwell, they aren't that bad... you could get GA tickets for a couple bucks but you have to wait in line all morning. There are scalpers all over selling/trading, if you show up and tailgate with Robert & his crew I am sure that someone will be able to find you a ticket within reason.

Omaha is a must if you've never been. I went for the 1st time when we beat Florida for the NC and had a blast. Tickets can usually be found for reasonable prices from scalpers especially since Nebraska is not there.

It will be my 3rd CWS. 2004, 2005, 2009. I'll be there for the duration. I sure hope The Fajita King will make an appearance behind the grill.

I only go for 1st or 2nd place finishes - '02 (all games), 04 (Championship Series only - God punished my Team for me half-tailin' it, but that is the year that I ran into my Augieville Crew), and '05 (all games).

Little Bear booked the flight and the rental car tonight and I may be sleeping on the floor with Barton Hills and the gang until hotel availability thins out a bit but I wouldn't miss it for the world.

First trip to Omaha was 1996 (the 50th CWS); our 'Horns did not join me there, sorry to say.

(Stayed for a couple days, not the whole tournament.)

Since then I've attended variious portions of the 2000, 2002, 2004, and 2005 tourneys. Mrs. s102r18, who, generally speaking, can tolerate about a half dozen or so innings of baseball per biennium, decided a few years ago that she was willing to take in a few games in Omaha "some day." I think that was around the beginning of the 2006 season, so I blame her for our run of three straight years failing to advance beyond the regional.

For many months now the Mrs. and I have had travel plans that included the possibility of taking in a few games in Omaha this year, with or without our 'Horns. As prospects for Texas kept improving late in the season, it became harder and harder to accept the "without" prospect, so we were leaning toward not going if Texas did not make it. Now we are really psyched up about it all.

Went in 89 and stayed at the Holiday Inn with the team. Went off and had 4 kids, finally going back this year with kid #3, who enters UT in the fall in architecture.

This will be my first trip.

Would appreciate any advice as far as fun places to eat, drink, etc.

Do those staying in Council Bluffs usually rent a car? Haven't decided if it would be worth it, or if taking cabs is a better idea when you factor in parking, drinking, and all that.

Don't sweat tickets. There were always huge lines for GA tickets but we just scalped and got great tickets at face or slightly more. Rosenblatt is a very big stadium.

This will be my 1st CWS appearance. I am going to buy two books of 10 GA tickets, then sell the rest before I leave on Tuesday night. Let me know if you are interested in some GA tickets for Wed-Fri. games.

I will probably meet some of you at the Longhorn tailgates. I am going to bring my portable Weber gas grill to aid in fajita/burger/hot dog cooking for the UT fans.

I'm hoping to go, although it would just be for the finals if the Horns make it that far (now announcing FrontRunner Airlines!)

I went in 1981, 1982, 1983 and 1984, then took a 20-year hiatus. It was only through the generosity of a former Horn rightfielder that I was able to go in 2004 for the finals (bless you, JJ!) , and then I was there for the whole thing in 2005. I've seen two championships, two seconds, and two thirds (one was a tie). I hope to add to my tally of championships this year!

Can't wait to raise a Jameson's to Jose at Starsky's and have a pineapple shake at Zesto's! And cheer on the Horns, naturally!

I was there in '02, '04 and '05 (all good years), and now. This year, I'm bringing my son, who is bringing his baseball glove. I'm really not sure which one of us is more psyched about it.

I drove up today.....my 18th time at CWS Omaha....unlike some others, I am only here when UT is here ....nothing like it

Just booked my hotel and my wife and I will be up there from sunday-wednesday morning and then if Texas makes it to the championship series then we will return for those games as well.
Robert, remember Dawn will be eating for 2 so I hope you bring plenty of brisket!!
