Who would be President?

Mitt Romney. He understands money, economics and enough about bipartisanship to be an effective governor of heavily Democratic Massacusetts. Though I'm not a Mormon, I admire the committment the LDS folks give their church -- true belief and lifestyle changes -- not just a bunch of hypocritical posturing for show.

you got the right. The Link

Obama v. Romney +4.6%
Obama v. Bachmann +13.8%
Obama v. Pawlenty +13.7%
Obama v. Palin +19.6%
Obama v. Cain +15.7%
Obama v. Gingrich +14.7%
Obama v. Paul +11%
Obama v. Huntsman +14%

but just as putting much stock into a Obama vs. general GOP candidate poll is foolhardy, putting stock in the ones i cite above are pretty foolhardy too; being that we are 17 months out from Nov 2012

Yo -

Hate to burst your Obamagasm, but did you know in a campaign where an incumbent President is running for re-election nearly 100% of the undecideds will break for the challenger. Under this scenario, BO loses to Romney by 8 pts.

Its over for BO and he knows it. His debt gambit is to try to get the Rs to make a move such that he can try to hang the double dip recession (that's coming) on the Rs. Ain't gonna work. They've actually called his bluff.

I just don't see how Obama can hold the electoral map he won in 2008. Good luck keeping Florida, North Carolina, Ohio and Colorado just to name a few.

Its hard to believe Obama can get reelected unless the Republicans really drop the ball. He is a very vulnerable candidate. He is an incumbent with a record so that eliminates the 2008 strategy of cute speeches and empty platitudes. The economy is in bad shape with no encouraging signs - high unemployment, high inflation, skyrocketing debt. He is a younger Jimmy Carter.

I hate to say it, but I think Obama wins re-election. The idiot factor+Republican suckitude is a lot to over come. The R's suck at getting their message out and they always get sidetracked by useless pledges, causes. Casey Anthony has better PR than Republicans.

The only X factor is the economy. Supposedly, no POTUS has won re-election with 8%-9% unemployment. So basically, Obama's fail(which is strong) is the only thing that will stop him.

Obama is the Jimmy Carter of this generation. He is in so far over his head and it has become so obvious in recent weeks. On the other hand, the Ronald Reagan of this generation has certainly not stepped up just yet. Reagan was just so good at the right message and the right tone and I don't see anyone even in that galaxy just yet. Who can truly articulate the American story that Barry shuns?

I don't see how Obama loses without a double dip. I see unemployment falling gradually and by the time election time rolls around we could be at 8% or lower unemployment. Even if we are above that mark, what Brotha says resonates with me. There aren't a good crop of candidates, there are too many idiots amongst voters, and the media that they count on for their info is decidedly behind Obama.

This is true but I do not think the economy is going to improve. the only way for that to happen is for the real estate market to get better and it won't. there is no capital available. banks are not going to loan money out to build in the states with a depleted real estate market. corporations have learned to run on a more streamlined budget and are making profits and are not going to hire lots of new people (unless its really necessesary) with the healthcare bill kicking in next year. The energy sector is hiring because we actually need the people, but that is it as far as i know. You have to look at the election from a more practical standpoint. 35% of voters are registered republicans and vote that way. same with democrats. you are not going to have the fired up independent electorate out there wanting to vote for obama. the swing state independents that voted for obama last time are not going to do it this time imo. i don't think it matters who the republicans put up there. frankly, i don't think it matters who wins the next election. so many tough choices will need to be made, you are going to piss off enough that there will be civil unrest. the next president is going to have to deal with real fundamental change but probably not the kind obama was talking it...or maybe it was....
