Who voted?

I left early to vote. My polling place in far northwest Dallas but Collin county was jammed with Dem voters in line. Out the door past the building and down the sidewalk.
As I am standing in the Dem line an official said this was the Dem line with a separate line for Pubs. That line was maybe 6 people.
One "official" said there were so many Dems since no one knew who would still be in the race. Dan Patrick said on WBAP The Republicans had early voted in huge numbers.
I hope both are true. That was a depressing sight to see so many people think socialism is the way to go.

They are excited since this is the only competitive race they voted in since Obama-Hillary in 2008. The reverse was true in 2016 for the GOP presidential primary.

I really hope so
it is just chilling to think there are so many who do not see a big picture but what stuff they can get for free

Put on my Reagan Bush 84 sweatshirt and voted. Election official asked me twice when I asked for a Dem ballot. Voted Bernie. Unfortunately, Tennessee democrats are middle of the road.

At 10, people were still in line to vote at Texas Southern, yet my voting place had no line at 615.

I voted in east Dallas county, the dem ballot counter had an advantage of 2.5 to 1 ballots.

Tonight (between 5 to 7pm) I was in flower mound at the CAC. Zero people in the dem line, the Republican line had no less than 15 people in it. Big Republican showing in FM.

I voted by absentee ballot. I'm not surprised GOP turnout wouldn't be as high. There are virtually no competitive primary races.

There are two very competitive Republican Congressional races in greater Houston. One has something like 14 candidates.

Whoever it was that posted the best way to win as a dem was to flip Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona is pretty sharp. Looking at the 2016 map, those are the 3 toughest to hold serve on, and Michigan and Wisconsin was razor thin.

Unless Joe runs off the rails over and over, we don't pick up any new state. Minnesota was close but Biden is likely preferred over Hillary there. Pick up is doubtful. This is going to be close if they can keep Joe safely away from microphones up in the attic after the next debate.

Speaking of the debate, March 15 is either Bernie's Alamo or his San Jac. He has to nuke Biden to even have a chance.

As for bern, when he's deposed again does he form a new party next year and chair it? The Free **** Party, or somesuch.

Why was there a line dedicated to each party? In Travis County yesterday, we had one line and the voter selected which primary at the front of the line.

Good q n64r
Every primary I have voted in in Collin always had 2 lines on actual day
But one line in early voting

The local party leaders decide if they want to work together or keep the parties separate.

There are some competitive races for Congress and other more localized races. However, there are no competitive statewide races like the Democrats have, and that's likely to impact turnout.
Concur with this. I printed out the sample ballots and wanted to be able to vote FOR a number of Republican props, but the reality was that there were very few actual races for which decisions would have existed. Consequently, I decided to vote the Dem ballot (voting against every single one of the props)...several races that had a good candidate and some really crappy ones and where I knew the good candidate.

I voted early...plenty of open booths, even at 10AM on a Saturday.

Honestly, I skip the props, because they aren't actually props. They are self-serving polls for politicians and political parties, and I don't want to be a part of that.

True and understandable...but realizing they are 'polls' of a sort, it is also why I like to ensure my tiny voice opposing the nonsense was recorded...
