Who Speaks for Liberals?

Bill Maher, Mark Thompson, Mike Malloy, Ed Shultz, or Rachel Maddow? Just interested in which one speaks for the Left to understand beliefs, philosophy and culture.

You will have to ask Satch. As one of the more "liberal" on this board I don't like any of them much. Jon Stewart maybe ... he's got a sense of humor and doesn't accept ******** just because it comes from a Democrat.

Cenk Uygur (The Young Turks). He's of turkish origin but not anti-Israel like some on the radical left. He's spot on on a lot of issues. Moderate on many issues but a staunch Dem.

Agree with PH. There's a lot of good reasoning behind conservative positions and amazingly enough good reasoning behind more leftist positions. We get into a mode of "label" and attack and bickering and partisanship overwhelm any reasonable solution.

One of the reasons I think its tougher to define who speaks for Liberals, and yes there are other reasons as already noted above- is that Democrats, when running for President or other offices, never run on "Who is the most Liberal"-

This label and definition is not as sought after as when GOP candidates try to out "Conservative" each other. I mean come on- I don't buy for one second Romney is a real liberal but he claims it every other word.

Back to the topic- if your quest is to find a mouthpiece for Liberalism- you'll probably never find it as I don't think the Liberals I know seek to be Liberal for the sake of being Liberal.

The closest thing is maybe a Rachel Maddow, Olberman type- but I despise those talking heads on either side who in spite of the occasional good point, they tend to mock and hate the other side for the sake of it.

Jon Stewart is an awesome guy- he makes me laugh and is bi-partisan in his calling out of the BS.

Who are Mark Thompson, Mike Malloy, Ed Shultz? I've heard of Rachel Maddow, but have never actually seen her show.

The obvious answer would seem to be Barak Obama, although it seems clear that the far left wing do not like or trust him because he is not really one of them.

Personally, when I want an infusion of liberal think, my favorite writer is Michael Sandel.

First off, I didn't post "estrogen" just thought it was humerous. Second, you seem to have an abundance of it in your system. Exactly what have I posted that is "uber macho?" Are you the typical wimpy little metro bugger or what? Your last post makes you come across as the epitome of the hypersensitive liberal. Go take a midol and calm yourself.

Man, the allergies have got me down the last few days. Gonna go take a warm bubble bath with some scented bath salts to relax. Maybe a cucumber wrap to soothe my eyes also. Whaddya think of that Roger????
