OK, we're almost 30 games in, I'd like to poll the audience to see who you'd peg as our best DH option at this point.
Over the weekend Preston had to play 1st due to the Belt injury, but I'd assume that Brandon will be back on the field this week.
Options ...
Preston Clark
Cameron Rupp
Russell Moldenhauer
David Hernandez
IF Rupp is catching, I have a hard time being convinced that PC is our best option. While he is our team leader, along with Tucker, he's just flat out NOT hitting this year. His average is currently .188, with an on base % of .303 ... just not good enough to be a DH.
My personal choice would be Hernandez. He's held the team lead in batting average all season, and just always seems to make good things happen when he's in the batting line-up (.318 avg/.361 on base %). Friday he walked and scored on a HR, then had an RBI single later in the game. Sunday he also had a single, and scored twice I think.
Moldenhauer also had a big hit yesterday, but his production seems to be spaced out quite a bit (.286 avg/.390 on base %). He is also not much of a threat on the bases.
IF Preston is catching, I'd go with Cameron Rupp (.250 avg/.363 on base %).
What are your thoughts?
