Who is actually getting LHN?

I have Dish & they told me they have no plans to add it any time soon. Then today I talked to a DirecTV rep & he said even if they do get it, it will only be for larger cities like Dallas.

IMO that's pretty significant if Dish & DirecTV customers aren't going to be getting LHN. What good is it if such a large percentage of fans won't even be able to watch it?

I also get it here in Waco, and it is awesome. You get to see and hear things that you've never seen or heard before. If the fans of other schools that are bitching about LNN would (or could) see it, they would see how great it is and be after their school to start up their own version. In addition to sports, there are interesting pieces about the campus and the University in general.

I have it hear in Wylie (DFW area) via FiOS. As others have already posted, it is cool seeing some of the behind the scenes footage. Longhorn Extra is good at 10pm each night as well. It gives an update on what is going on with Longhorn athletics as well as Longhorns in pro sports at times. Post-game show is good as well given they typically talk to some of the coaches and players (especially on home games)

btw, how is it accessed online? I was unable to access it for the Rice game.

I watched it on veetle.com,next time nowhere, or usteam.com,and justin tvyou can download it with your search eng. type in
texas ucla torrent but you should use utorrent with vuze to download.
you can get into trouble, but this is just between you and me.

I just got off the phone with Grande. They are installing on Wednesday. The guys said they were getting a bunch of people switching. I can't wait!!!

My son plays in a band (Stoney LaRue) and they are in west Texas quite a bit. He will be glad he can tune in if in Midland.

I just spoke with Grande and for those of you in Round Rock, they are expanding. Certain areas are now starting to get service. I hope my neighborhood is one of the ones to get Grande. I will switch from Dish if I can get the LHN.

not to rub it in, but the other night, Mack, VY, and Colt were sitting around a table talking about their recollection of the end of the National Championship game. Colt said that entire year he followed VY around and made VY promise to let Colt know when he was throwing to receivers or watching film so Colt could soak up every second!!

The program chango is referring to is "Texas Legends" with lots of great comments from all involved. Mack tells about him hollering at Vince in practice when Vince was a freshman. Vince stopped and looked at Mack and said "I've never been yelled at like that by a white man." Mack replied "well I'm probably going to be white all my life so you better get used to it." Mack said Vince just laughed when it happened just like he was doing on the show.

The clips on youtube are fantastic. We may never have it Birmingham but I e-mail all our providers as often as I can. Forty cents? I would pay 4 bucks a month for it WITHOUT football games. If they could get espn to comp every one for a month - the demand would be impressive to say the least.

We get it for free on Verizon FIOS in the DFW area. I watch it a lot and enjoy the insights to all things Longhorn I have never seen before. I appreciate Verizon doing this.

So I live in Central Austin, and have had TW for awhile. I will switch to Grande for the LN, unless Grande is not at least to as good as TW in general. And Grande does serve my neighborhood.

Can anyone here give me a comparison?

I have kind of a complicated house, 4 TV's, 4 DVR's, roadrunner, etc., so not a really simple switch.

The thing is, you really shouldn't have to switch cable service providers to get this channel. My guess is that well over half the Longhorn fans out there can't even get it without switching...and the majority of them probably aren't going to do that (at least in the short term). I think most people will take a "wait & see" approach, & by then the LHN may already be a flop.

I live in Houston and I bet we will scare the **** out of the cable companies that don't add the LHN first. Then they will see some real big numbers.

Unfortunately for me, TWC has me by the short hairs. They are the only cable company I can get where I live. My apartment doesn't face the right way for DTV or Dish, and none of the other providers offer service out here.

It sucks to be held hostage by these ********. I thought Comcrap was the worst cable company ever when I had them for a short time in Seattle, but TWC makes them seem like cable angels from Heaven.

I live in Houston and use AT&T U-verse. They don't have it and based on message board discussions at the U-verse website, I do not get the sense they are going to get it.

I love The University of Texas and would like to see all of their football and basketball games. But somewhere a line has to be drawn to keep cable prices from continuing to spiral continuously upwards, out of control. Unfortunately, this is one of those places. And that is why I hope U-verse and all the others hold the line and refuse to pay anything extra for the LHN.

Enough is enough.

pluckeye,
I have had Grande for several years now and the only thing I missed on TW was YNN because they had Mack's press conferences live. Now that the LHN has these I don't miss anything. Grande has great customer service and they will always match a TWC offer when I get to the end of my agreement term.

I called them last week to thank them for adding LHN to the basic digital package and they said they had received positive feedback from Horn fans but also a lot of cancellations from Aggies who didn't want any of their $ going to UT. Go for it--as others have said it far exceeds the hype IMO.
