Hi.

We're moving to Fayetteville, AR next month and I need a moving company. I've never moved out of town (well, not since I've owned a home) so all I've used is local movers (like Blue Whale -

What moving company have you used? Who do you recommend?

Any tips for choosing a company -- negotiating the deal?

I'm not paying for it (my company is).

Thanks.

I know the VP of a Houston company called All Points Moving & Storage. I'm pretty sure they have an Austin office. I've used them before and they do a good, professional job. Their Houston number is 832-553-0901.

I own a local company but I am only licensed for in state moves. I have done a few moves to Arkansas but the customers were previous customers who wanted to use us bad enough to rent trucks, get there own insurance to cover their items and let us load and drive the rental trucks and then unload. One was to Hot Springs and the other to Jonesboro.

You may look into going that route. If you have home owner's insurance, ask them what kind of coverage you can get. But, since your company is paying I am sure you want to just have a company do it all.

I have connections with a few companies who do this type of moving. One is in Austin and one in Conroe. PM me if you would like more info on this.

Put Simms In did a great job on my move, I know a number other posters have used him and been happy as well.

We used ABF to move from Winchester, VA to Temple. They charge you based on feet(how many feet of trailer space). With them, you pack, load, and unload. We paid about 1200

If your company is paying for it, make sure you use a reputable one. PSI can probably recommend some good ones, but if you are in the Houston area, I would highly recommend A-1Allstate Movers. The owner actually went to University of Arkansas but married a Longhorn, so I'll give him partial credit. Phone is 713-952-5077. Bit pricery than some, but because they do a lot of corporate moves, he earns it with some quality work.
