Which Camcorder?

Any of you electronics "gurus" or anybody who researched a new digital camcorder lately got any advice? I think I have it down to either the Panasonic GS120 or the SonyDCR-HC40. I don't give a crap about the still photo aspect of it. I have 2 good digital cameras. I just want something good for videoing the kid and being able to basically point and shoot and then download to the computer and transfer to DVD.

I thought I wanted the new Sony201 that recorded to the Mini DVD. But all the reviews say not to waste the money that the technology is not there yet.

Help a brother out. I'm about fed up with it!

I did alot of research before the purchase and for the price, it's a nice camera. You can see a review of the Elura 70 (which is identical to the 65, just includes a larger battery and a wide angle lens) atThe Link

If you decide to go with the Sony or the Panasonic, Willoughbys had great prices and they shipped it quick.

I bought the SonyDCR-HC30 about a month ago and it has worked fine. To my knowledge (and you'll probably want to confirm this), the only difference between the HC30 and HC 40 is about 100 bucks, and the HC40 takes better quality stills. If you don't care about still photos, you could probably just go with the HC30. Also, order it from one of the outfits out of New York rather than CC or Best Buy. I did this and saved about 100 bucks. I got mine from mpsuperstore.com with the manufacturer's warranty. etc. They will try like hell to sell you accessories, just be firm and tell them no.

I bought the Sony PC-109 and I love it. I have only used it once (when I was in Greece recently) and it did awesome. The only bad thing is the lack of wind protection for the mike, but other than that, I haven't noticed any problems. Plus, I can put it in my pocket.
