at Jerry World that is. Want to be close enough to cab it to jerry world and downtown Dallas or ft. Worth. Would it be pricey to stay in ft worth or Dallas?

Well, there is really nothing between Fort Worth and Arlington or Dallas and Arlington, at leat on I-30. There is a Sheraton that sits right by the Ballpark in Arlington, and a Hilton across I-30. Next closest would be to go to Irving (Embassy Suites on 183 is not bad) or into Las Colinas area (Omni Mandalay is very nice)

well, a cab from DFW airport to dallas is about $40..... so from the stadium, it would be pretty high for sure.

there are a couple of hotels that make it walkable to the stadium although none are that great. but they are there..... hilton, raddison, etc.

The Sheraton is probably the nicest hotel very near the stadium. You can walk to it as it is right by The Ballpark. It is where opposing MLB teams stay to play the Rangers.

Also, downtown Ft. Worth and downtown Dallas are over 30 miles apart, so if you cab it, you are going to have a pretty steep bill.

I would suggest maybe picking either Dallas or Ft. Worth to stay in, and either driving or cabbing to the game. There isn't a great deal to do right near the stadium in Arlington anyway.
The Metroplex really is a grouping of smaller towns that have grown into each other. There is no real middle or center or dense urban area outside of the 2 downtowns. (I am sorta lumping in Dallas Uptown when I say that).
If you want some great restaurants in Arlington PM me and I can give you some ideas, or some Ft. Worth ideas in general. I really don't know Dallas nearly as well.

I would stay in Grapevine right outside of DFW and rent a car. Then you aren't too far from anywhere.

Thanks guys. Yeah, it was downtown Dallas or Ft Worth, not traveling back and forth. I wish there was something to do around the stadium though. Then, I would just stay in Arlington.

Humperdink's isn't bad either.. Not as upscale as Olinjack's. It is a brew pub place with decent food and lots of tv's though. It isn't too far from the stadium.
Arlington has some stuff to do, but not really centrally located. I am going to assume that the 6 Flags winter stuff is all up including the snow sleddign for kids if you have them. Winter in the Park or something they call it, and it is kinda nice to walk through and see the decorations.
If you want good BBQ, travel to Pantego to get some David's. It is on Park Row. You can take the Fielder Exit from I30 and go south to Park row, turning west down it.
