I know HHD is at the game, but those of you who aren't watching are missing a gem by Harden thus far. And the boys are runnIng wild on Meche -- even Vlad stole second!
Texanne, Texanne we have not forsaken thee... I finally found the video - our lads lead 2-1 over lowly KC in the top fot he 4th and it does my heart good to see them clad in RED.
If you hadn't noticed, our Rangers are in first place in the AL West - and playing pretty solid baseball. That was a well-played game last night, and it was actually dominated by pitching. For those of you who haven't noticed yet, the Rangers have a pretty decent pitching staff.
Nelson Cruz is supposed to be back in the lineup this week. David Murphy has filled in pretty well, but having Nellie's bat in the lineup should improve the production.
The next two weeks offer a schedule which will allow the Rangers to pad the lead a bit. With the Angels struggling a bit, the motto may be on the money - "It's time!"
Beating Seattle and Kansas City is nice. But it's what they do against Oakland and Anahiem that will determine if the Rangers make the playoffs or not.
The cool thing about being a Texas Rangers fan is that we don't have to win a world series to feel great about a season. What I really love is that the team is sticking to a strategy that focuses on building from within.. I don't know how many times in the old days the team would get close to contention and the owners would take all their money and prospects and ship them off for guys two years after they were all stars, leaving the team not quite good enough to win the division and bereft of hope for the future.
If Harden can produce a start like that 17-20 times, he's money well spent. His first coupla starts were scary so I'm hopeful he's just coming around.
The Dutch Oven was called up yesterday, I'm really interested to see if his breaking stuff is now up to MLB par. If it is, these guys will make a real run....put harrison in a 6 out role when he gets back, maybe ditch Frankie off to a desperate club, it really changes things.
Don't look now, but CJ leads the AL in ERA. The earth is officially off its axis. If Harden can become a little more consistent, we'll have a little something, here. Feldman is scaring me. Dude has looked awful for about 4 starts running. Harrison is hurt. Shocker. Holland called up to fill in. I hope it's for good, but I have my doubts he can stick yet.
Nellie is back on Wednesday. Kinsler is playing well. Elvis is the leadoff hitter I demanded they use LAST YEAR. I should be the manager, I know. Somebody start a grassroots campaign to replace Wash with your's truly.
