Where to go

there's a thread on the football forum about this.

I don't know that I will go anywhere for a while. Like a death in the family, it will take time to recover from this.

Hornfans has been my go to site for so long, it's hard to think that there is another I will enjoy as much.

I don't know where but we need a
Place to go for all things Longhorns women's basketball. This is the only site I can get constant and up to date info.

Sad to hear the news about the site shutting down.

Perhaps Geoff Ketchum at Orangebloods.com (or one of the other Longhorn football sites) would be interested in opening a free Longhorn women's sports board or an Olympic sports board (for all minor sports).

not exactly a Longhorn forum but they talk Big 12 WBB fairly civilly at HoopScoop.net

At least we got a bit more time, until Thanksgiving, to decide something.

Won't be the same without your game previews, Babhorn. I'll really miss those.

looking at a couple of sites to continue doing them. maybe even here if it others can keep it open. I really have found very little re UT WBB on other sites.

I reached out to the moderator on the hairy longhorn site (pm if you don't know the one). He would consider setting up a subforum for all things Lady Longhorns. There are already active discussion threads on soccer, volleyball and softball. He just wonders how many of you would come over and participate. I would hate to miss out on some of your insights. If you guys would setup an account and reach out to him, I think he would do it for us.

I've been registered over there for about four years and would definitely use a forum dedicated to Texas women's sports.

I traded pm's with their admin who said and I quote "If BabHorn comes over I will do it". So it's up to the world renowned BabHorn to give us a spot to relocate our passion for all things Lady Longhorn.

New women's message board is now on Shaggybevo under 'Lady Horns'. All that is needed is a thread on women's basketball to be created.

They have a requirement on needing a minimum number of posts to start a thread over there. If you want a thread started over there and don't have enough posts, just pm me over there (same screenname) and I'll start it. That goes for everyone but Seattle.

I have an account over there too, can't stand to read the obnoxious posts, but would definitely participate in a women's sports forum, especially if there was a women's basketball thread.

that's certainly an option. Still looking at a new board that would focus on Tx WBB but, right now, considering options. If I do migrate to SB, definitely would need TempestHorn to start the thread as I don't even have an account there although I do go over there.

The thread is already started BabHorn and everyone is waiting on you. You have quite the rep.

Dino the site is s h a g g y b e v o.com remove the spaces.

There are some obnoxious young kids over there for sure but also some good eggs. Be prepared for the Activision screen grab of a basketball game to be posted several times, that screen shot never gets old to them. You have to look at it like missionary work, educating young men that women's sports can be fun to watch too.

You also have to get used to the "name" you get under your screen name. It is based on the number of posts you have. Right now I'm a fuc$tard and I'll be glad when I get the requisite number of posts to become an asshat or a *******, both more desirable than a fuc$tard. It's a very juvenile board, hopefully they will stay off the Lady Horns forum. I can't stomach some of their avatars, but hey, I want a place to talk about Texas women's BB so I'm willing to tolerate it.

This is the only Texas board I've ever been a member of. I don't know how others feel, but for me there's just too much stuff that is disrespectful towards women on the other boards, inc SB. And like others, this is where Babhorn posts, so never a reason to look elsewhere. At least there's a month, or perhaps longer at this point, before we have to worry about posting elsewhere.

To me, a Texas women's sports forum would be a good start. If we had enough activity, we could ask for a separate wbb forum.

I'm posting here til it shuts down. Hoopsalot, that was what happened here cuz we started out on the men's board before there was enough interest to get Hornfans to create a WBB board.

I agree about the disrespect to women on SB, but in case this board shuts down, I want to have a place to go. Hopefully, some place else will appear!
