Where to go in AUSTIN

Coming to Austin with a group of 7 guys from all around the country to attend the football game against Colorado. Would like some advice on where to Eat, Drink, Watch other games before the UT game, where to buy UT merchandise and so on. We are staying out at the Residence Inn by the airport, how far away are we from Campus? Thanks

you are a good deal away from campus if you are by the airport.

shop at the stadium store. they have the coolest longhorn items.

I assume that you guys are renting a car or two, right? The question then is where you will park the car. There are do's and don'ts about it.

Re: Where to buy merchandise...try Longhorns Ltd. (located at the stadium at either entrance, East or West (San Jacinto or Robert Dedman roads), or try University Co-op on the drag (Guadalupe St. and 23d). They will have all you seek and much, much more. My advice is check them both out since they will have a couple of items that the other won't, then get what you wanted where you found it.

What to do...hmmm, good question. Tell us more about your likes, re: drinking, eating, etc... The choices are endless. I would recommend logging on to the Austin Chronicle or Austin360 or even CitySearch for some stuff like live shows, etc... Restaurants are in all those publications/websites as well. Want BBQ? Opinions differ from person to person but it is almost all good, no great.

i forgot. all the ladies hang out on South Congress. i suggest you drive around there slowly and ask a police officer where the action is at.

Scally is, of course, kidding. The best place to pick up chicks is east of campus, just on the other side of I-35.
