Where to find a sturdy footlocker

My nephews are going to camp for a couple of weeks and my sister is having a hard time finding a sturdy footlocker for them. When we were kids we had metal footlockers.

Now all she can find at Academy is a flimsy one made with particle board or a plastic one that's too small. Does anyone still make sturdy metal models and can you find them in Austin?

Container Store? They have some online, not sure what's in the store. Also, Costco sells a very large rolling duffel bag for cheap (~$35-40) that would work. I've used one for extended trips and it worked fine.

The Rolls Royce of footlockers is made by a company in Stephenville called Texas Case Co. I'm telling you, these things are indestructible. They have tons of colors and other options. They make these things custom for bands that need special stuff for their gear to travel. It is not cheap, but it will last. My wife has a store in S.A. that sells gear for the summer campers. If you want the introductory level trunk, Seward is the most flimsy. Wife has hers made with a hinged lid, which is not available most places. Spend a little more and get a more sturdy, slightly longer lasting trunk online from C&N footlockers available online.

The Academy ones are junk. My daughter had one and she's not too tough on things and completely destroyed it.

For my son we just ordered the trunk used at West Point from Rose Trunks. They also have steel trunks that look indestructible.

Try this link. We bought from them over 10 yrs ago for my daughters. Now my son uses the trunk for Camp Longhorn. Make sure you don't get a girly color. The Link
