Where should tOSU and Land Thieves be ranked?

Bucknuts should drop like a rock. Down in the teens somewhere.

Meanwhile BlowU continues to roll and Georgia pulled out 7 point win. I'd put OU at #2. USC and OU seem to be the two best 3 weeks into the season.

Hook'em!!!

Agreed. Based on games so far, USC and ZeroU are 1 and 2 respectively.

Georgia shouldn't be a top 5 team. Buckeyes will drop just outside top 10.

i haven't seen florida play, but it sure seems we are better than tOSU and Georgia at this point. tough to say though. we still don't reallly know what we were dealing with in Cinci and Washington. is cinci really any good? is washington really that bad? BYU looked real, real strong today.

just tough to say. to be honest, not sure we know much of anything until we meet up in dallas.

I thought Ohio State looked just awful. I can't understand why they were rotating QB's as it seemed obvious Pryor gave them the best chance. I would put them out of the top 10 but I don't know that the real voters will.

1 USC
2 Florida
3 OU
4 Missouri
5 Georgia
6 LSU
7 Texas

Ohio State should be in the 12-14 range.

I think the top 3 are a notch ahead of everyone else right now. A team I really like as the season goes along is Florida. They are very, very good, and the talent gap between them and USC is minimal. I would not be suprised at all if USC and Florida played for it all this year.

Sooners 2. Bucks 12-15. Bucks are nice and all but it's time to just sellout and go with Pryor all the time. The Big 10 is weak and they won't do any worse with him playing than they will with their current starter. He's the future and going to be a great one, turn em loose.

USC's schedule rest of the way makes it inevitable that they will play for MNC. I doubt OU is losing another game this year unless Missouri scores like 60 points in a possible conference championship game. Bradford might be too much for our secondary and Missouri is not going to beat OU. Things can change but I see a USC vs OU matchup for MNC in which USC will promptly undress OU.

USC's schedule:

9/25 @ Oregon State 9:00 PM
10/04 No. 16 Oregon 8:00 PM
10/11 No. 15 Arizona State TBA
10/18 @ Washington State 3:15 PM
10/25 @ Arizona TBA
11/01 Washington TBA
11/08 No. 23 California 8:00 PM
11/15 @ Stanford TBA
11/29 Notre Dame 8:00 PM
12/06 @ UCLA

I for one don't want to see tOSU drop any further than 11-12. I really doubt the #10 team (dae i say #8?) would've fared better vs USC last night. The thought is to not penalize a team for having an agressive schedule while #7 LSU & the likes schedule "Our Mother of the Matress".

Just don't let them work their way back into the MNC game

I agree that as of now ou should be ranked 2nd, usc 1st. But ou has a much tougher schedule so throughout the year if they stay undefeated and make solid wins (decisive statement wins) then they should be rewarded properly in the polls and take the top spot at some point. Especially if the Buckeyes lose another game or two, which they may or may not.

It is only for show and means not much other than pride and rewarding a team for playing a tougher schedule all the way through and not just one highlight game early in the season. It is not usc's fault that the Pac 10 sucks so bad this year but they should not get ot keep that top spot at the end of the year if ou plays a much tougher schedule and takes care of business.

I hope none of this matters come a certain weekend in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl.

Is USC really that much better than everyone else? I don't think so. They do have some sick talent, but I think tOSU made them look all -world. tOSU defense got rattled early, and never recovered.
If they play a softer schedule the rest of the season than their opponent (assuming they go undefeated) in the MNC they could get surprised by a team hardened by stiffer competition all season (Big 12 or SEC).

It just seems too early to crown them with another "Best of all time" title just yet. Maybe I'm just twisted from 2005, but the every year the first time USC has a game like last night on tv the announcers start slobbering all over them, "they seem like the best ever".

I think they are but they have one or two meltdown games at times other teams play a great game and eek out a win. See UCLA a couple of years ago, the abortion of the Stanford game, the Fresno St. almost upset for examples.

They are so deep with super talent at just about if not every position. They are well coached and seem to have that swagger. Any team can lose any day they play but the odds for USC to win are astounding. That game last night was fun to watch and they still have things to work on.

While it would be nice to see Big Game Bob have his head handed to him again in a championship game, it will not happen as OU will have at least 1 if not 2 losses. Don't get caught up in OU score run-ups on the children of the poor.

Right now there is a pretty clear top 2 in USC and then the land thieves, shaping up like 2004 where they will be top 2 and a team from sec is undefeated at 3 and ******* all about not being in the championship game after USC beats the sooners by 30 again.

Unfortunately for Ohio State, they may not have seen the worst. Troy (Alabama) of Sun Belt Conference is up Saturday, 20 Sept. They are saltier than most may know. A recent upgrade to the top level, joining Sun Belt in 2004, in past years they have already beaten Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, and Missouri. This year they started by defeating a fellow Sun Belt team, Middle Tenn, who promptly went out the next week and beat Maryland who in turn handed a decent Cal team their head this Saturday. Troy won their Saturday game 65-0 (of course against Alcorn State). Troy is looking for a signature win and still has that gleam of hope in that they sidestepped LSU til later in the season due to Gustav. I would not be surprised to see an uninspired and pouting Ohio State team getting drilled by a touchdown. Adding the final irony - these Alabama guys are also Men of Troy! Watch the score Saturday, 20 Sept.
