Where is the Senate plan?

Why haven't the majority in the Senate pushed through a budget or alternative to the Sequestor? I believe the House has passed two plans in the past 6 months.

Why doesn't the President call on the Senate to vote on his plan?

Zork, the President wants the sequester to happen. Then he can blame it on the Republicans and the MSM will parrot him. And those on the government dole will scream about corporate jets and inequality, and continue to get bigger welfare checks.

I'll admit that I haven't studied on the subject in the last 30 years, but it seems like there is a Constitutional Provision that requires tax bills must originate in the House. I think Obama's answer includes some tax increases.

I think this sequester is going to be like Castor Oil, unpleasant but ultimately good for us. Everybody needs to understand that today's spending level is incompatible with today's taxing level, as it has regularly been since 1980. If we want low taxes (which at least by historical standards we have now) then we gotta have less government and there's no way to accomplish that without shrieking and hollering. This ain't a movie or a novel. There's no way to tie up all the loose ends with everybody happy.

While it is true that revenue bills must originate in the House the Senate can and has proposed or concurred on revenue bills just like any other
and since 2 bills have passed the House the Senate could take them up
and or BO could also weigh in on them
It does NOT have to be sequestor or nothing
but BO watns it that way

OK, where are the responses by the Senate to the two plans passed by the House to put it a different way?

Rough details are emerging reportedly that the D's will actually put forward a budget plan. Although it doesn't appear to actually address the yearly deficits much nor provide any actual debt relief ever.(no surplus as scored by the CBO)

I see for the first time in years the Senate will actually offer a budget.
According to Politico it will include 1 TRILLION in new taxes BUT Dems are not letting Pubs see the budget until later today.
The Dem budget will go to Senate committee with only opening statemtns available. not the full budget.
Why hide it?
is this some new form of transparency?

Ryan released the full budget to everyone

The Democratic Senate just passed a budget that your spouse goes by every weekend, when you ask her how much she spent she tells you how much she saved, never tells you how much they spent.

Let it pass the house and bring the two budgets to a conference and let the battle begin. I bet on the Tea Party as the Democrats don't know budgeting from a hole in their head. I can't wait to see all the pork that gets attached to this for the true water down effect.

Funny how you don't even no what years the budget blew over the mark and who controlled Congress at the time.

So ignorant of facts, unbelieveable. Do some research before spouting your inaccurate claims.

Here are the links to the plans:

House Plan

Senate Plan

While I was reading the two plans, I noticed the tax increase part in the Senate plan:

Fair Individual Tax

Immediately allows Bush tax cuts to expire for families earning over $250K
Higher tax rates for millionaires and billionaires (from 45% to 49%)
Taxes income from investments the same as income from wages

Fair Corporate Tax

Ends corporate tax bias toward moving jobs and profits overseas
Enacts a financial transactions tax
Reduces deductions for corporate jets, meals, and entertainment

I say call the Democrats on this and agree to it; then say "ok" now we are going to make these cuts. I guarantee you that if the Republicans called their bluff on tax increases, you would have some Dems running around like a chicken with it's head cut off when you ask for cuts. They would have no argument to fall back on.

Here is the compromise I wouldn't mind seeing: Allow the tax revision that the Dems want and allow the Pubs their plan to restructure Medicare, Social Security and other entitlement programs.
