I want to buy sausage wraps for our pre-game get together next Saturday. Anyone know where I can get them in Austin (besides Scholz's or the stadium, obviously)? Thanks!

?
buy any sausage at the grocery store (I recommend Earl's hot links)
buy some tortillas

done.

That is what I would normally do, but I don't want to do any preparation at all. We dont have our grill up and running yet (just moved) and we'll have a bunch of out of town guests, so I literally want something I can pick up already individually wrapped (like at the stadium) and put on a serving tray.

Well, Ruby's has by far the best sausage in town (slow smoked Elgin), and they do sell them in wraps (with tortillas or bread), and they cater, so I'm sure they would do trays of wraps for you. And its less than 5 minutes from DKR.

Go to Ben's Longbranch Barbecue -- it is on E. 11th street, JUST east of I-35, and almost walking distance to the stadium. Ben Walsh smokes a mean bunch of sausage, and the price is damned good, too.

You can just buy a whole bunch by the pound, and either get some bread from Ben's, or bring your own pack of tortillas. Sometimes, on the way to baseball games, I stop and pick up a pound of sausage and 4 slices of bread. My buddy and I then sneak it into the game, and have 4 sausage wraps for something like 4 bucks, and they are a LOT better than any grub at the stadium.

Seriously. Go to Ben's, you won't regret it.

The Ben's sausage was excellent. Thanks for the rec. Spoke with Ben when I went to pick it up Friday and it was a pleasure. We'll definitely go back.

I'm glad it worked out, and I'm glad you're supporting a great local business.

Ben's lovely wife was a witness for me in a trial several years ago, and they couldn't be better people.

And did I mention the kick-*** sausage?
