West austin. Our grass is outrageous. What happened to the kids hustling for some pocket change? I'd pay 20 bucks no question about it. GOO, you up for it?

they are inside their homes playing PS2 and eating low net carb cookies and crackers by the fistful....

If you guys are serious, pm me and we'll talk. You West Austin guys have some big lawns, so $20 is kind of inexpensive, but we can talk about it.

I cannot tell you how awesome it feels to work in the sun and make $20 an hour.

$20 is below market value nowadays pops

if your *** lives in westlake, cedar park, or leander and has one of those big *** yards that could double as a class 2A school's football field, then you need to up the price.

and while you're at it, hit me a pm and we'll see what we can do. they don't call me neas "greenthumbs" 921 for nothin'!

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but I'm kinda curious: how much did you get paid when you were a kid mowing lawns? Me? I charged $10 to mow, edge & trim N'west Austin lawns when I was in high school ( mid-late '80s). I think I had 10 different regulars within two blocks.

ages 11-15 I had between 10 and 15 lawns in my neighboorhood, charged $15 for mow, bag, edge, trim, and sweep when I started, finished with my price at $20. The yards were midsized - If I hustled a complete job would take an hour and a half.

My nephew saved all summer and just bought a self-propelled mower so he can start doing yards. He did my tiny front yard last week for the low, low introductory price of 10 bucks.

Not bad for a 7-year-old.

My two brothers and I mowed over 25 yards in our neighborhood. My dad had bought a Sears Eager-1 when we moved to Houston, and Sears sold him some unlimited maintenance plan where they would either fix or replace the mower when it broke. At some point they gave us a new mower while the other one was in the shop, so we ended up with 2 mowers.

For about 3 years we would wear out a mower while the other was getting fixed, and probably destroyed over 15 mowers. Sears eventually tried to buy my dad out of the plan, and then made accusations that the mowers were being overused (which was entirely true, of course).

When I started undergrad, I had over $15,000.00 savid solely from mowing yards, all tax free.

I can't believe these little shits around here won't mow. It's easy money, and it gets your parents of your *** doing chores around your own house.

I am in NW Austin off Anderson Mill/Parmer w/ about a quarter acre. IF there is anyone reading this that is interested in regular business (or has a kid who is), PM me.

Thanks!

We charged 10 for a average middle class lawn. It wasn't that long ago. Late 80's. Parents need to stop getting cell phones and MP3 players for their fat little ***** kids and kick their *** outside once in a while so I can get my lawn mowed.

btw, I'm pretty sure when my brother and I would mow our lawn and/or the neighbors, my parents had sex. One might think that this would encourage parents to send there kinds into the cruel world of tax free work, sweat, and spinning two stroke blades. But no.

i have decided to let my lawn die. it rained so much this summer that it grew like crazy. now it doesn't rain much and it is just dying. i like it.

Yeah I remember cutting yards back in junior high and early high school during the summers. I enjoyed peeling the shirt off and busting through the work. Used to turn off the self-propelled so I could get a little more of a workout and go faster.

I think my Soph Summer I got three dates from girls who recognized me from mowing lawns.

I never put the money away though, mostly blew it on booze , concert tickets and partying.
