When will Skip and Augie

switch Cole Green and Kasparek in the rotation. KK doesn't have what it takes to get through 5 solid innings. He would be a great late inning setup man or a guy we need for 2-3 innings. Hate to say it, but KK hasn't had it all year.

Kasparek is killing the team. It's an automatic loss when he pitches. This team won't make it out of a Regional for the third consecutive year, which is pathetic.

there's no way im jumping ship or saying we wont get out of our regional, but its past the halfway point and i personally would like to see some things changed in the rotation. i know its hard for the coaches in the batting order to get the right mix of athletes on the field. much easier being a monday armchair coach. i dont envy augie, skip or tommy

This team just doesn't seem to have "it". I know Augie says they're a championship-caliber squad, but I'm starting to wonder if he misjudged things (for once).

Pitching is part of the problem, but I about lost it in the Home Depot parking lot today when we had Torres on 2nd, Tucker on 1st, no outs, and couldn't score a freakin' run. Come on.

This team probably as a whole has as many pro prospects as any of Augie's prior teams, but they look lost out there. I think the errors show a lack of concentration and chemistry.

Archive the story Augie wrote about the 2002 CWS team. It speaks about the heart and soul of a team. One player must pick up the slack for the others when they are down and vice versa. This team must bond, but it has to come from within the team themselves.

Thorp got it right. Leadership from 2002 through 2005 was off the charts. 2006 through present?..........I'm just sayin'......

What does leadership have to do with guys booting ground balls and chunking the ball into the outfield on routine plays? How do any of us know anything about the leadership on this team? We're losing b/c our pitching and fielding suck.

KK is a guy that was an integral part of our 05 NC team. It's not like he doesn't have the ability and doesn't know what it takes to win. I don't think I've heard Augie mention a lack of leadership as being the problem one time this season. All he's talked about lately is fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals. With Augie's philosophical approach to the game, maybe it's hard for us to remember sometimes that it all comes down to executing and playing fundamental baseball.

TS,
The players that played (and led) the championship teams of 2002 and 2005 have told me that leadership has EVERYTHING to do with what you mentioned. I agree that KK was an integral part of the 2005 Championship, but I don't think I ever heard his name mentioned as a leader of that team. Some of our best players ever, All Americans, were not leaders. I also don't think that Augie would ever share with the public his view of the leadership of a team, unless it was outstanding. That's just my opinion. I'm certain he knows more about it than I do since he's won ~1700 more baseball games than I have!

Being an All American is great , but it doesn't make them leaders. Being a leader doesn't make the player an All American.
