The only info that I've seen says "Summer 2006," and that's about on us. It looks like it's done, what's the holdup? I'm tired of the ridiculous lines at the Cameron Road light in the afternoons, it totally screwed up my alternative route home if 35 was congested.

I read in the paper recently that they are expecting to open it up
before the end of June, hopefully next week.

It will be free until the rest of the tollway to the airport is finished.

That's crap about the toll roads, IIRC work started before the toll issue was resolved, and none of the information they gave to residents in my area mentioned anything about possible tolls, just that we would have to put up with construction for 24-36 months.

That's what you get for not wanting an increase in the gas tax, ok, not you necessarily, but the people of Texas who feel they've been somehow scammed with toll roads. They want more roads yet will vote out anyone proposing to increase the gas tax so toll roads are what you get.

I haven't been keeping up, but did I miss the referendum on gas tax vs toll road? For all I know, they're raising my gas prices as is.

Well, there's a sign up now that says "traffic change 6/28 and 6/29." I hope that means it's going to be open soon.

It's open as of tonight.

I hope that they retool the traffic lights at Cameron and 290, those things took forever after they started construction, and they used to be relatively fast.

Yeah its open, but when going South on 183 in the afternoons its almost worse now than before because all the traffic just builds up at the first light you come to. And stays that way through all the lights there on that stretch.
