When was the CWS Finals originally planned on....

The last 2 times we played in the Finals it was a Saturday, Sunday, Monday deal. Of course both times we didn't play on Monday. We lost to CSU-F in 2 and beat Florida in 2.

I guess they changed this?

This is the first year of the Mon/Tues/Weds Final ... dumb *** move if you ask me.

With the teams involved this season I expect drastic drops in attendance for the Champ Series. Announcers were already talking about a dip in attendance last night from past years to 2008.

The Champ should be Sat/Sun/Mon ... who the hell could take off 4 days of work to drive/fly to Omaha should their team qualify ?

Bad PR move. Weekends are always a top draw for sports,especially the CWS.

they did it for tv ratings. i don't think omaha gives a **** about tv ratings.

i was waiting for them to say the big drop in attendance this year was not having Texas.

Yeah, so with the rain, the championship series still starts on time?

It makes more sense to have it complete Monday night (if a 3 game series, Sunday if finished in 2).

That way, the entire CWS lasts 2 full weekends and maybe Monday.

But now it is like 10 days. Too long, IMHO.

Start on Friday, play baseball all weekend, all week and then have the finals set up for Saturday/Sunday/Monday.
