When the Mavs play like this...

You realize they are still capable of beating anybody on any given night. Mavs were playing swarming defense in 2nd half; Jet with over 20 points in 2nd half; Dirk only making 12 points but causing double teams to open up other players as well as play pick and roll beautifully; and the new guys J.Kidd and B.Bass with strong games. If Kidd continues to hit those 3's - nah, that's too much to ask - but, still...

And the best part was the look on C.Paul and the rest of the Saints, I mean Hornets' faces...they were not sitting back frolicking their way into the playoffs - they were trying to win. Maybe we'll catch some Warriors magic in a bottle for the playoffs.

Go Mavs,

and Hook'em!!!

The Mavericks end the regular season on the best possible note: a double-digit win over the team they'll be playing in the first round of the playoffs.

who knows? they're certainly capable, but also capable of resorting to jump shots and getting nothing done.

Hook'em!!!

I'd hate to be rewarded for a 2nd seed by having to play the Mavs in the first round. I like Dallas in that series vs. N.O. personally. And with the exception of the #1 vs #8, the rest of the matchups are as even as I have ever seen for a 1st round.

Good luck to you guys.

I love the Mavs, but I think the lack of a backup center behind Dampier is going to really hurt us.

Our defense and rebounding take a gigantic hit once Dampier is out of the game.

Malik Allen is rather worthless. I like Brandon Bass a lot, but he isn't a great defender and isn't the defensive presence on the boards that Dirk and Dampier are.

Bottom half of the Western conference bracket is brutal.

Mavs gotta sustain this type of play which has been the problem for them this season. They have been right there the entire season. A few breaks their way in some of those games against winning teams and they might be the 5th seed instead of the 7th seed.
