when the hell will DTV and KXAN agree on HD?

did some fairly light Googling to get an update, but it doesn't appear KXAN is going to join its three Austin local peers in finally allowing DirecTV to broadcast HD anytime soon.

Obviously, the Olympics are getting closer, and it is huge to be able to watch in HD.

Anyone have any updates?

LIN/KXAN also held out on Suddenlink for almost 3 months. Seems like a common tactic.

Just upgraded my to DTV HD and was wondering about this myself. Right now, not being able to have The Office in HD on my DVR sucks almost as much as OU.

we get channel 36.1 KXAN HD via OTA. see if you get a powered HD antenna if you can pick it up as well. you can DVR shows from your OTA as well

I get my AUS locals via antenna and I get SA locals via DISH (I told them I moved my dish to SA temporarily). Works great.

One thing though, I used to get the the 36.2 station (weather from the locals) but now I don't. Do these guys still offer the weather 24hr locals?
