When is DISH going to get Austin locals in HD?

I have done some looking online and it looks like DISH is giving some people a 2nd satellite dish just to get austin locals in HD. As it is, I have an antenna on both of my tvs behind the tv. And I get Austin locals that way but sometimes CBS goes in and out which can be a pain in the butt.

As it is, I have told DISH that I temporarily moved the DISH to a vacation home (ha) in San Antonio and I get SA locals via DISH and then Austin locals via antenna.

For shits & grins, I called up DISH and told them that the DISh was back in Austin and to change me back to Austin locals and once again no locals in HD via DISH (I wanted to check).

I am going to call them back up tomorrow to say back in SA. It isn't a pain but I thought DISH was adding Austin locals in HD in 2008.

I have 2 dishes. #2 was installed a month ago, and they claimed complete ignorance about a timetable for getting HD locals with the original dish.

I think you can get SA HD locals if you know how to program your system, but that doesn't get you Austin HD broadcasts.

There is no programming involved to get SA locals. You just call them and tell them that your billing address is the same but actually you are in SA.

I get Austin locals in HD (or SD) via antenna. The issue is a couple of stations are not that strong.

We just got Dish Network insalled two weeks ago in Austin (Turbo Bronze package), and they put up two dishes. We now get local Austin channels (7, 24,36,42) in HD.

I heard that a couple of months ago. Is this an out of pocket expense if we want the second dish? I'm already paying the $5/mo for the SD local channels.

Like you, Fied, I get the locals in HD over the air (I have a grid set up in the attic). I lucked out though... from Round Rock, all the Austin stations are within 5 degrees of one another and I think my worst station is 94% strength.

It just sucks not being able to DVR more than network in HD at a time.

We got ours a month or two ago. Don't think it will ever be one satellite since they need to point in two different locations. I need to look at our bill, last I know we were paying 20 for HD. Dish didn't mention anything about it being 5 a month for locals. I have it though ATT so I don't know if it makes a difference.

I have DISH via AT&T as well and I do spend $5 per month for locals. And I don't get them in HD either. I don't really want a 2nd dish.

I am giong to call up DISH this week and tell them that my dish is temporarily moved back to San ANtonio. :)
