I was thinking the same thing after watching Boston clinch last night. I was thinking... "Damn, this isn't good... They should have loftier goals in mind". But I think it's just how it's done in baseball.

The only thing I can see them using to justify it is that the season is such a long grind, so to go that far is an accomplishment and it does feel good, but I agree Bob, it's a bit ridiculous.

As a Sox fan I was a little surprised that they did it after the win also. I think the Horns have the right attitude about no celebrating until bidness is finished.
