What's up with Stella Artois?

Similar to the Blue Moon thread -- I've noticed Stella is being sold almost everywhere, with a lot of places having it on tap. I mean, it's OK, but not that great. What's the deal?

Part of the whole buying of Budweiser. They are increasing that beers profile and others in their company's product line.

For some reason "hipsters" started drinking it a few years back, and apparently even though they mostly work in coffee shops, record stores, and "vintage" clothing stores, they had enough buying power to change the beer distributing environment.


But seriously I've been seeing Magic Hat popping up lately. Whats up with that.

The first time I had ever seen it was about 4 years ago in SF. It seems everyone in the bar was drinking it as they served it in a special glass.

I don't like it. I think it is skunky.

You're not kidding! That may be the second worst beer around. It tastes like watered down Heineken. A few were left in my fridge after a party. The rest of them will stay until a guest drinks them.....and beer doesn't usually have a long life span around my place.

+1 on all the skunky comments. Used to drink it about 4 years back because a bar I frequented sold it for $2 in a 20oz glass on Sunday nights.
