Whats up with Blue Moon (the beer)

the last few times I've gone to generic resturants (Chili's, Fridays, ect.) They seem to have all the generic beers on tap. And blue moon?

Is Blue Moon becoming the "Shiner" of the late 90's, where its on tap just for the few people who come in and actually want a beer?

It just seems like a strange beer or am I way off?

Blue Moon is brewed by Molson Coors. So, it actually IS one of the "generic" beers. Not sure why they carry it rather than any other macro-beer, I guess they're trying to appeal to a market segment that wants a beer that doesn't have the brand name of one of the major macro beer makers.

It's a smidge better than the regular "domestics" so people that drink at least decent beer come it (or dragged in) and they don't want a BugLight, so they go for the best thing, which happens to be BM.
I've recently went to an applebees and was releived when they served fat tire.

SO yes it is becoming the new Shiner Bock.

Also chicks like it.

I actually like a Blue Moon every now and then... As a self proclaimed beer lover, I like many many different types of beers, and it depends on the setting, what I am eating etc. as to what I want. Sometimes it is just what I feel like. So yea, I think you can like Lone Star, and Guinness... and even Blue Moon.
