What's the story Obama /national anthem

I know this is old news but I had not seen it until today. A co-worker of mine showed me a clip of Hillary Clinton, Obama and some others standing while the national anthem was played.

It looked like he had his hands in his pockets instead of his hand over his heart.

What was his explanation?

The National Anthem is song. Why would someone place their hand over their heart? It's not the pledge of allegiance.

Why should a Senator hold his hand over his heart during the playing of the National Anthem?

It's part of the flag code that Congress passed into law in 1942.

I'm not an Obama supporter, but I was raised this way-

1) Hand over your heart during the Pledge of Allegiance.

2) Take your hat off during the National Anthem.
-And it wouldn't kill you to sing the words as long as the "official singer" isn't some new "recording artist" and then it makes it near impossible to follow along.

Throught our history there have been 'great' americans, who have placed their hand over their heart every chance they get..these same 'great' americans have then turned around killed, raped and robbed their fellow americans!

So 'hand over heart' = not a damn thing, in determining what kind of american you really are.

Nothing wrong with being proud of where you come from but for gods sake, get a grip!

Who gives a crap if you don't put your hand on your heart? What the hell does that have to do with whether you would make a good leader or not?

Bush is very patriotic, but he is a crap president.
