What's the deal with electrical outlets

The Sooners let me down this evening so my mind wandered to more pressing things on a Friday night.....

I need a scientific survey to prove my hypothesis that 90% of the time when people plug an electrical cord into a socket, they have to flip the freaking plug over to make it plug in.

Or . . . maybe its so damn frustrating when it doesn't work the first time, that you don't realize it doesn't happen very often at all????

Please let me know what percent of the time you have to flip the plug over. Mine seems to be 90% of the time.

Hate to have to tell you, but...if you're having to flip 3-prong 120V plugs 90% of the time to get them to fit...that's entirely on you.

Now as far as the polarized 2-prong plugs go, of course it is 90% flippage...because, you know...opposites attract!

You could, like, look at the plug to see which is the larger prong, then plug it into the larger opening of the outlet, but that might be too complicated for someone going around humming Boomer Sooner all day.

USB connectors are even worse because they are also kind of symmetrical unless you look closely. Not the best design.
